One out of every two children must have been fascinated by cartoons. But least knew that it was nothing but animation. Animation is nothing difficult but bringing inanimate objects to life. The simple meaning of animation is using techniques and methods to create a manipulated image of non-living things moving. One might think that animation is newborn, but it is not. FPS is the abbreviation of Frames per Second, meaning the number of frames in one second of the sequence. A standard animation is expected to have 24 fps. It means that one second of that animation will have 24 still images. In filmmaking, we do variations in fps as increasing fps results in slow motion of video output and decreasing fps results in fast motion of Video. The same happens in animation. In animation, we do modeling, texturing, and lighting of 24 still images which combine and give movement for one sec. Like this, we combine thousands of still images to make minutes of Video.

As per the name, it is a two-dimensional video. Whatever we write or draw on a page or sheet is two-dimensional. That means 24 2-d drawings are drawn by hand with the help of a pencil, and after the frames are cleaned up, they're inked onto cells. Completed cells are then photographed. But nowadays, 2-d is getting off-trend, and the new version is 3d. Some software used in 2-d animation is Stop Motion Studio, Cartoon Animator, CelAction2D, Moho Pro, Tupi, and Adobe Animate.
3D animation is truly a product of technology in the real sense of the term. It is one step ahead of 2D animation. Unlike 2D animation, the objects are not hand-drawn. Modeling in animation refers to using geometrical shapes (geometrical) to give a shape to the character and exact the dimensions of the character. Modeling is just like drawing with a pencil in three dimensions.
Texturing is the next step after modeling. After a model has been created, texturing decides its skin color, surroundings, and background. It is done using software and gives the proper texture to the models.
It is the essence of animation. Animation relies heavily on lighting, which can add life to a scene in an animated movie. Shadows, light effects, angles, and intensity are all a part of the responsibility of a light artist.
